Like most people I know, I’m a sucker for anything personalised. Whether that be personalised pictures, books or clothes, I’m all over it. There is just something about personalised items that make them that bit more special. I have ordered a couple of personalised books and a poster for Logan’s first birthday & have been looking to get a lovely dressing gown with his name on. He already has a gorgeous towel from My First Years that he received as a gift from birth, a taggie blanket from The Cuddle Company that was, again, a gift from birth, and to add to the list, we have a pram charm that we bought from our local market that has his name on a ribbon, 2 colours chosen by myself and a little dummy. This has now had to be removed as he can reach it and he likes it dangling (little monkey).
Dee Dee & Boo is a company owned by Helen, who specialises in personalised prints & bespoke illustrations. Helen lives in Somerset with her 2 children, husband and her puppy ‘Princess Tutu’ and has the beautiful view of the seaside to accompany her whilst she designs and creates absolutely beautiful artwork with lots of love and attention to detail.
I was contacted by Helen and given the opportunity of choosing a print and giving her the details to personalise it with. I chose this print from her website with the blue stars and the cycle of details as I am in the process of trying to ‘decorate’ Logan’s nursery with different pictures and fabrics and felt this would fit with the colours and theme perfectly. This is what Helen created for me;
The print has been fully hand drawn, no computers or other equipment used to create it. I think that makes these prints that more beautiful and you can tell that Helen puts her absolute all into each of the prints and designs she creates. The print has Logan’s full name in the centre with his date of birth underneath, his birth weight on the right and time of birth on the left. It also has the added details of his mummy and daddy’s name (Alex & I of course). It is A4 in size which I think is a perfect size for such a detailed print. It has also been fairly easy to find a frame for it to put up in the nursery. I honestly don’t think I could give these prints enough justice but I will tell you that you MUST go over to the website or facebook page and have a nosey at what Helen can offer you. You wont be disappointed.
What do you think of personalised prints? Tell me what you pick out from Dee Dee & Boo, I’d love to see 🙂
